What is the quality of our hair?
Myfirstwig offer two types of hair, Malaysian Virgin Hair and Indian Remy Hair. Both of them are natural 100% human hair and they’re collected directly from healthy donors in virgin condition. After collecting the hair our hair technicians will rinse the hair and handpick out short, damage and grey strands for women are in need of best and superior quality.
Malaysian Virgin Hair is 100% natural and unprocessed human hair. It’s the absolute highest quality hair available on the market. It has not been colored, dyed, bleached, or chemically processed in anyway. So this hair can be washed, blow dried, bleached, colored, and curled & styled with heated tools when you receive it.
Our Indian Remy Hair is chemically processed to compact the hair cuticles to ensure the hair is completely tangle-free and has a natural soft and silky appearance. You can wash it, curled it and style it. However, we do not recommend that you do any bleaching and coloring. This hair is already processed and any further processing will damage the hair quality.
NOTE: No matter how good our hair quality is, please DON’T style it or dye it too frequently, the heat or chemical will make the hair easily get dry and tangled.

What color does the hair come in?
Virgin hair only comes in natural colors of the donors, which are usually natural black to darkest brown. You can leave your comment at the time of purchase what color you would prefer, and we will TRY to match that the best we can. We do not guarantee color matching.
Can the hair be straightened or curled?
YES, all our hairs are 100% Human Hair, so treat it as your own. You can curl and straighten the hair as desired. However, DONT do it too frequently, the heat will make the hair easily get dry and tangled. You can CLICK HERE to see how our customers style and color their hair.
Can the hair be colored /dyed?
YES, you can color our hair. As a general rule it is easier to darken the hair than to lighten the hair. We highly recommend you have your professional hairdresser dye the hair for you. Coloring by yourself will take a risk of not coming out the shade you want. If you can’t get to a salon, please always use good quality hair products and test a small sample first. How to care the hair?
- When you are brushing your hair, be gentle! You must always use a wide tooth comb to brush hair from the bottom up, small sections at a time. For CURLY hair please detangle it when in water with conditioner. DONT comb it after it is dry, otherwise it will cause tangling and matting. Without the proper treatment, your hair will get damaged quickly.
- Use good brand hair care products such as Pantene or Keracare to keep your hair soft. Avoid hair products that contain alcohol because it makes hair dry. Chemical agents are widely used to add curl to straight hair and to loosen curls in curly hair. These products can permanently alter the structure of the hair. These compounds can also cause severe hair loss from over processing. Never use perms or relaxers on damaged hair.
- Wash and condition hair regularly. Detangle hair gently before washing. Wash it gently in one direction only with warm water and some mild shampoo following with conditioner. Rinse it carefully and let it air dry. DONT rub the hair or press it to hard while washing it.
- Deep wavy or curly hair always needs more maintenance than wavy or straight hair.
- Always braid your hair before going to bed, swimming or exercising. Never sleep with wet hair.
- Prolonged sun, water and wind exposure can damage the hair. It is also advised that you keep hair from coming into contact with saltwater and chlorine water as these factors can also contribute to the wear.
What is a Full Lace Wig?
Full lace wigs are manufactured with a cap, and a thin lace sewn on top of the cap. Individual hairs are then sewn into the thin lace.
Full lace wigs will have lace all around the unit, and require the lace to be cut all around the unit. You will be cutting a hairline around your entire head. By doing so, once done you can wear your hair anyway you like, ponytails, up-dos etc. Think about it. With the wig, you have just cut yourself a new hairline around your entire head. Once the unit is applied, you will have on a full hair wig - but the front, back, and sides of the hair wig will not be like a regular wig. The wig will appear that all of the hair is growing directly from your head.

When it comes to lace wigs, there are many different types of cap construction, and they all have their advantages and drawbacks. Which one you choose depends on a variety of factors. Below are some examples of the most common ones, including their advantages and disadvantages. You can use this as a decision guide when placing a custom order.

This lace cap is convenient for wearing and securing for application without glue( or with a little glue) so as to be very suitable for customers who are allergic to glue.

Glue-less cap is user friendly because come ready to wear and more versatile. Besides, it does not require the use of adhesive (glue) while wearing.
>>Disadvantages:
As the glueless lace wigs are secured by combs/pins, so it is more easier to slip over and slide away.

Full lace cap with no stretch
This cap style doesn't have stretch. It can be used by women with no or scarce hair. This cap style has lace all around the perimeter and allows you to wear your hair in updos and high ponytails. And when glued down, it will give you a natural hairline all around the perimeter. It can be parted anywhere throughout the unit.

Allows for styles that require the hair to be free parted.

This cap is not recommended for beginners who are unsure of their measurements. Needs to be glued down.
Lace front cap
Swiss lace (or french lace) in front and machine weft at back.in front is handmade. very natural hairline in front.
>>Advantages:
No need to adhere the nape of the wig (you only glue it down from ear to ear);A great option for beginners.
>>Disadvantages:
High ponytail is not available with this cap, and you can only part it as far as the lace panel extends.
Silk Top
This cap type contains a piece of silk (usually located in the front centre of the cap and 4x4 or 5x5 in size) through which individual hairs are injected.
>>Advantages:
Invisible knots in the area of the silk base,which gives a more realistic illusion that the hair is growing directly from your scalp.
>>Disadvantages:
The color of the silk base could be not match the color of your own scalp completely.
U-Part Wigs
They are simply a modified half wig, that are created with the shape of a ‘U’ cut out on the top of the wig.
>>Advantages:
A u-part wig is as convenient as a wig in that it can be quick to install. It also has the more natural look of a sew-in weave because it allows for a substantial amount of leave out at the crown.
>>Disadvantages:
U-part hair can’t be freely parted and sometimes it can be not easy to blend well with your natural hair texture and hair color.
What is Yaki Texture and what is the difference between Yaki and Silky?
Yaki texture is process we do to your wig that adds a micro kink to the hair strands to mimic Africa-American people relaxed hair. The silky straight hair texture is the natural state of the Indian Hair as it comes from the provider. It is look like the wig of Caucasian. If you are Caucasian, we recommend you choose silky texture.
What color lace is best suited to my skin tone?
You want to match the lace color with your scalp complexion not your skin tone. This is because when you part the unit, you want it to appear as your natural scalp color. So to check your scalp color part your hair and look at the color of your scalp to determine your lace color.

How to take your measurements?
Before you start pin hair as flat and as tight as possible before taking the measurements. This will eliminate bulges that distort head contours.1. Circumference: Measure all around the head. Position tape measure so its edge follows the hair line around the head and nape of the neck.
2. Front to Nape: Measure from hairline at center of forehead straight back over crown to center of hairline at nape of neck.
3. Ear to Ear across forehead: At front of ear, measure from hairline at base of sideburn, up across the hair line along forehead to same point in front of other ear.
4. Ear to Ear over top: Measure from hairline directly above the ear across top of head to the hairline directly above the other ear.
5. Temple to Temple round back: From temple to temple across the back of head.
6. Nape of Neck: Measure the width of hairline across the nape of the neck.

What are Bleached Knots?
Bleached knots mean bleaching out the knots which is caused during tying each strand of hair into lace by hand at the base of cap. By this, the knot will be a lighter and the whole lace wig will look more natural similar as its own natural hair. On dark color hair, we suggest you to use this procedure. The lace wig with bleached knots will also look natural.
What is a Widow's Peak and Natural Hairline?
A Widow's peak is M shaped hairline or Pointed Hairline. For this, your front hairlines make the shape of M or come down in point above forehead.

Will the lace wig have a natural look?
Yes, our wig has a real-looking hairline,especially with baby hair. Besides, all units of my first wigs can be free parted, worn in high ponytail and etc, quite natural just as your own hair growing out.

How To Choose The Length Of The Hair Extensions?
No matter how long your hair (wig) is, clip in hair extensions should be worn from the top downwards, around 2-6 inches. Therefore if the length of the extension is N inches, the whole length will be N + 6 inches.
Eg: If you want to add hair length to 24 inches long, 18 inches clip in will be recommended.
How to measure the hair extensions?
The straight textures are measured true to length.

How many bundles do I need?
1 bundle includes 100 grams (3.5 oz) hair. For a full sew in weave we recommend buying 2-3 bundles of hair. For hair over 16″, we recommend ordering 3-4 bundles of hair. The main rule: longer hair equals shorter weft width.Also, take into consideration that the numbers bundles needed also depends on the style and volume you desire.
Can I cut the hair wefts?
Absolutely! You can cut the hair weaves when you sew them in your hair. However, we recommend sealing the ends so that hair will not shed at point of cut.
Why using a lace closure?
Customers that wears sew in weaves, often use the Lace Closures to cover the top area of the head where the weft hair is sewn down. They are used to cover the area that is known to many as the "leave-out". Those who are very familiar to wearing weaves know that the most important part of weaving is to make sure the area at the front hairline & crown area are well blended. They can also be used with various other weaving methods.
Can I wash the hair extensions?

How long will the hair extensions last?
How long the hair lasts depends on how you maintain it. Normally they can last from 6 months to a 1 year. Treat it like your own hair and take very good care of it, then it could last longer than 12 months.
Will extensions damage my hair?
Although the wefts and clip-in hair methods are semi-permanent, they will not cause damage to your hair if installed and removed correctly. You can also ensure that no damage is caused, by using the right remover when taking the extensions out. If you are not a professional yourself we always recommend you to go to a salon or professional hair dresser.
Remember, while wearing the extensions you are not losing the normal amount of hair per day (which is normally from 50-100 strands per day). So when removing the hair extensions after several weeks, all this hair will also come off as well.

Can I wear the hair extensions to bed?
If you are wearing clip-ins, it is recommended that you remove them before going to bed to avoid any unnecessary tangling, and to avoid damaging the clips. If you are wearing hair wefts/weaves or lace closures, it is perfectly fine to wear them to bed. Just make sure to brush your complete head of hair at night and in the morning with a special designed brush for extensions. You should always braid your hair before going to bed, to effectively avoid causing any tangling.

How do I attach or wear the wig?
Braid down your own hair and make sure to lay it flat to your head.
Several notices while braiding
• Leave some natural hair out at your front hairline
• You want to have a natural wig partline and no natural hair be seen though the wig cap, be sure to make a part of your natural hair while braiding.
• If your own natural hair is very long, you should make it a tail at the back of your head and secure it with bobby pins as flat as well
Apply the adjustable stretch in the back area of the cap properly based on your head measurement.
Now put on your wig and attach the combs in the wig to the braids to ensure the wig is very snug and not come off during the day.
Pull some of your edges out to blend it really well with your front of your hair.
While doing this, just to create a line coming from the lace onto your real scalp and this will make your lace area look as realistic as possible.
How to get the natural looking?
First, after wearing the wig, you can take the comb and find the best parting.
And then take the comb and put out some of your natural hair, that’s the way to get the natural looking.
At last, take some makeup powder and select the color which is similar to your skin tone. Add that on the roots of the parting.
